Best Career Advice I've Gotten

Three pieces of career advice I've gotten from experienced professionals:

1. Adopt the problem-solving attitude - put simply, always ask: "What are we trying to solve?"
2. Know the business/industry - You cannot contribute to solving problems unless you understand the business.
3. Be thorough - that is, avoid shortcuts.
