Day 12 of the 365 Days of Self-Discipline book discusses the calmness of the mind. There is no better way to describe this section than sharing the quote of the chapter:But how do we achieve such state of mind? The author suggests, as do many other wise people, that the most common practice to learn how to calm one’s mind is to meditate. The key here is to ensure that we pay attention to the present moment or to focus on a single activity that we are performing.Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control. Its presence is an indication of ripened experience, and of a more than ordinary knowledge of the laws and operations of thought. —James Allen
