Day 11 of the Self-Discipline book teaches self-discipline and talent. The author argues that while self-discipline can stand you in good stead even with no extraordinary talent, the same cannot be said of talent alone. That is, even if you were talented, you still have to armor yourself with self-discipline to get far in life. The author rightly suggests that “Next time, before you complain that you don’t have a talent for something or weren’t “born this way,” remind yourself that self-discipline, in many situations, can more than make up for a lack of inborn traits.”Another great quote cited from the book:

Self-discipline without talent can often achieve astounding results, whereas talent without self-discipline inevitably dooms itself to failure.—Sydney J. Harris
