Day 13 of the 365 Days of Self-Discipline book discusses the dichotomy of choosing between what you want now and what you want most. The idea is simple: self-discipline demands that we build a sense of delayed gratification. This, of course, is often at odds with our desire to get what we want now. It is often difficult to wait for something that is far out in the future, even when we know it is what will be most beneficial to us.
