The Wisdom of Xenophon

I have not read any books or works by Xenophon. However, I have come across many boos referring to his thoughts. Naturally, I looked up his most famous ideas. Below are seven quotes from his various works that I found interesting:

1. Anything forced is not beautiful.
2. Self-confidence should always ride side by side with a strong sense of humility.
3. Brevity is the soul of command.
4. Success should never breed complacency.
5. Nothing that is really good and admirable is granted by the gods to men without some effort and application.
6. Moderation in all things healthful; total abstinence from all things harmful.
7. Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.
