Quant #01: What is Quantitative Research?

Quantitative research refers to a systematic investigation of phenomena whose process involves the collection, pre-processing, and analysis of numerical or quantifiable data. The focus on numerical data is what makes this research quantitative. In the case where data are not collected in numerical form, various methods exist to convert them into numerical form.

Statistical methods are typically employed to organize, analyze, predict, and interpret numerical data gathered in quantitative research. Examples of quantitative research include survey research on customer satisfaction; survey research conducted to investigate people's attitudes towards a new product; and many more.
